KERNCLIFF PARK

About

Kerncliff Park, located in Burlington, Ontario, offers some beautiful hiking trails tucked within the bounds of an old quarry. With its own trail system, Kerncliff Park offers 10 different trails to choose from, including links to the Bruce Trail and the Ian Reid Side Trail. With stunning stone cliffs, beautiful boardwalks, and winding trails, Kerncliff is a hiking photographer's dream. 

 

Originally called Nelson Quarry, Kerncliff Park is now managed by the City of Burlington along with the Cootes to Escarpment Ecopark System which works in partnership with landowners to conserve the natural landscape and promote sustainable outdoor recreation.

Park Access

Useful Information

  • Mostly flat terrain with a few small hills.

  • Kerncliff Park is very kid-friendly.

  • The trails are relatively stroller- and wagon-friendly.

  • There are restrooms on-site.

  • The parking lot is small (about 10-12 spaces) and parking on the street is prohibited.

  • Connects with the Bruce Trail.
